Redwood

Redwood lumber is a prized building material due to its desirable appearance, long-lasting performance, and rarity. Since redwood naturally contains an oil called ‘tannin’ it is naturally resistant to insects and damage caused by moisture, like rot or decay. Not only is redwood naturally resistant to bugs and the elements, it has a good strength to weight ratio. Redwood is exceptionally stable with very little shrinkage or seasonal movement. Redwood lumber is a popular choice for outdoor uses like siding, decking, arbors and pergolas, as well as interior uses such as paneling and exposed timber framing.
